Our 18th-century castle is located in the beautiful region of Gascony (South West of France, one hour away from Toulouse). The property is surrounded by farmland where we grow cereals and a large park around the castle, which includes a swimming bath.
In summer 2017, 33 volunteers from 11 countries came to help us turning this dream into a reality. The Chateau de Goas opened its door in May 2018 and we have hosted yoga retreat throughout last summer. We’ve been thrilled by all the nice people we met, and the positive feedback we got from yoga teachers and participants.
We continue to improve the place and are delighted to announce that a beautiful new swimming pool will be ready to use by May 2019
Gascony is often referred to as the Tuscany of France. One of the country’s best kept secrets, famous for its gastronomy, hours-long meals and ‘’douceur de vivre’’, the region is close to the Pyrenees mountains and stretches between Toulouse and Bordeaux. It has one of the country’s lowest population density and offers peaceful, magnificent landscapes including rolling hills, wooded valleys, vineyards, sunflowers and a plethora of charming arcade village squares. A truly unspoilt region, voted 2nd best place in the world for quality of life by the Telegraph, the “Gers” (as called by the locals) will give you a real sense of authenticity with weekly farmer markets filled by charming locals keen to introduce you to their land.
With 12 bedrooms decorated in a warm, rural and antique style, two living rooms equipped with TV and WIFI, dining rooms, French pool room with board games, historical library, a large studio room of 160sqm, a 6-acre park featuring ancient oaks and a splendid bathing lake located a few minutes away, the Château is the ideal setting to welcome large groups (up to 20 people) and host retreats in a tranquil and serene environment.
In addition to the practice of yoga and training activities, guests can enjoy their free time at the Château by taking walks through the exquisite countryside, going for refreshing baths in the nearby swimming lake, visiting local markets and historical villages nearby, participating in local festivals and tasting local wines as well as delicious regional products.
Weekly room fees p. pers. including 3 meals/day, unlimited drinks and airport transportation is 650 EUR / week for a shared room and 725 EUR / week for an individual room.
Additional services include mind body programs (yoga, Pilates, guided meditation), dance program (ballet, barre classes for adults, ballroom dance with social events), yoga and Pilates certification courses, cooking classes, excursions, etc.
Noelle & Mike were among volunteers who visited the Château and fell in love with the house and its surrounding. They decided to join the adventure on a full-time basis and moved from the US to France with their son Reece. They will be on site to welcome groups and ensure guests have an enjoyable stay.
