My education in yoga started in the early 2000’s, with a home practice. At first, I relied heavily on online classes, until eventually my confidence grew and I started attending group classes, initially at a gym and then at various yoga studios around town. Many different teachers and styles have contributed to my growth – from core strength vinyasa to gentle hatha to yin and restorative – but by far, my biggest teacher has been my own experiences, both on and off the mat. Though teachers can guide the way, a true understanding of yoga can only come from feeling it within.
I completed my 200 hour teacher training in 2016 at Thank Yoga in Columbus, OH, a vinyasa training led by a truly fearless teacher named Josie Schweitzer. Since then, I have continued finding new ways to move my body and quiet my mind, including trainings in acro yoga, meditation, and pranayama. My travels offer countless opportunities for me to learn and grow, and I am always looking for ways to broaden my knowledge.
