I taught one to two classes per week to students aged 18-25 who were dealing with depression and anxiety, drug and alcohol abuse, and other mental and physical challenges. Although this class was primarily for beginning students, I also offered more challenging modifications for intermediate students in the class. I focused on correct alignment, uniting body, mind, and breath, respecting the limits of the body, and finding a balance between effort and ease. I also led a guided meditation to help students relax before bedtime one to two times per week. I used different techniques for the guided meditations, including visualizations, pranayama, progressive muscle relaxation, aromatherapy, and affirmations.
