Description
I believe in Yoga for every body, but I know that I’m not the right teacher for everyone. I am not famous. I am not the most flexible or the strongest. I won’t compliment you on every pose. I won’t go easy on you.
But I will encourage you to come as you are. I will seek to understand you and give you honesty and compassion. I will hold you accountable to your goals and commitments. I will teach you yoga and meditation. I will support you while you shine a light into the dark places so you may understand yourself.
That is why I encourage you to come as you are. No fancy clothing, no expensive equipment. You don’t have to be bendy, or Insta-perfect. None of that has any bearing on whether or not you can do yoga.
I only ask that you accept others as they are, and most importantly, accept yourself as you are, where you are. Be committed to learning, and letting go of old patterns that no longer serve you.
I’m a total goofball, and think I’m funny. I love to laugh during class, often at my own expense! I have mixed dysphemia, which means I have a stutter. More often it manifests itself as large pauses or interruptions in speech, but occasionally, I do have some repetitions. Because of this, I often sound like I’m teaching a class full of 11 year old students. I have a light-hearted approach to teaching, but I’m truly serious and passionate about the life-changing effects of yoga and meditation. I believe “advanced” postures, though fun and challenging, aren’t necessary for a rock-solid practice. This is why I believe in keeping it simple (though challenging) and sticking with the basics.
I am an RYT 500, specializing in stress and anxiety management, lower back pain, strength, and flexibility, using a combination of Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative, Yin, and Meditation. I will also be launching a new business operations consulting program for Yoga Teachers and Studios, as well as a Yoga Teacher mentorship program. I make my home in the Willamette Valley of the ever-beautiful Pacific Northwest. Since 1991 (29 years!), I’ve practiced and immersed myself in the world of yoga, and I’ve been lucky to learn from wise and inspiring individuals.
Come experience a new way of living with me. I can show you how. And come as you are.
