Description
Yoga is undoubtedly transformative in the lives of many individuals, but I feel that it has been truly life-saving for me. At age 18, I took out a loan to begin a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training during a time I felt directionless and hopeless, and emerged with much more than a certification. I had found a passion, and knew then I would dedicate my life to teaching with the hope that I could help others heal and grow from yoga as I did.
Born in Raleigh, NC into a high achieving family, I grew up never questioning the unspoken path that I felt obligated to take. I graduated top of my class at a private high school and took a gap year to get certified and gain teaching experience. I then went on to pursue a degree in business at Virginia Polytechnic and State University with the intention of opening a studio upon graduation. Despite excelling academically, I became depressed in the college environment and chose to withdraw, knowing that the five yoga classes I taught at the student on-campus gym weekly were not allowing me to live by what I truly valued — dedicating everything I had to helping others.
I have over 150 hours of teaching experience post RYT training, but I feel that drive, passion, and genuine desire to help others qualifies me more than anything else.
