Julia *******
Description
My name is Julia VerBeek. My journey towards yoga began with a debilitating car accident that left me with sciatica and a boat load of pain. After trying many different pain management techniques my physical therapist started to work with me teaching me basic yoga to stretch and retrain my muscles. After less than a year I was pain free and hooked on the healing effects of yoga asanas.
In order to share my passion for yoga and help others I took a 200 hour yoga teacher training on Koh Tao Island in Thailand. During my course I began to see that not only did yoga heal my body but it was beginning to heal my mind and help me through some of the most trying times in my life.
My studies of yoga and anatomy led me to pursuing a degree as a Certified Nutrition Therapist through the Nutrition Therapy Institute in Colorado, I will complete my degree within the next year. I hope to use my knowledge to help guides others along their journey towards a health mind and body.
It is sometimes hard to see the silver lining in a tough situation but if it wasn’t for my accident I wouldn’t be the person I am today and wouldn’t be able to share the amazing gift of yoga and nutrition with everyone who attends my classes.
